History of Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home & Chapel
In 1902 A.G. Schreiter purchased the furniture and funeral business from the Simpson Co. in Kitchener.

Mr. Sandrock had an extensive background in funeral services. During World War I, he was in charge of embalming and shipping of bodies from Camp Cody, New Mexico to points throughout the U.S. In 1939, Arthur Sandrock purchased the funeral home from the Schreiters and it became known as the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home. In 1967, Arthur Sandrock sold the funeral home to local men, Jerome Futher, and Douglas Hallman.

In 1981, the two hundred seat chapel, two visitation rooms and a lounge were added. This construction was finished in 1982. Recently, receptions in the funeral home have become more popular and as a result a reception room, known as the Heritage Room, was completed in 1992. Today, Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home has one of the largest Chapels in the city.

Arthur Sandrock began with a commitment to a high standard of service, and throughout our history we have continued to lead and innovate while maintaining those high standards of service. Everyone at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home is proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to our community.
